Editorial Policy
How our research is sourced, verified, and corrected — and how we keep it independent of the market it covers.
Independence
OnChain Benchmark’s editorial research is produced independently of the firms, instruments, and networks it covers. We accept no payment, sponsorship, or consideration in exchange for coverage, for a favorable characterization, or for the omission of an unfavorable one. No issuer, exchange, protocol, or asset manager reviews or approves a report before publication. Coverage decisions and conclusions are ours alone. Read more about our ownership and funding on the about page.
Sourcing and evidence
Our reporting is built on the same public record as our ratings: onchain data read directly from public blockchains, issuer and auditor attestations, and public regulatory filings. Every material quantitative claim in a report is traceable to a source we can point to. Where a report relies on our own computed figures — a trust score, an index value, a supply or concentration number — those figures are produced by our published methodology and reflect the market as of a stated time.
We do not publish non-public information about any individual, and we do not present unverified claims as fact. When a figure is an estimate, a projection, or subject to a known data limitation, we say so in the report.
Fairness
We report on categories, structures, and market-wide patterns rather than singling out any one organization as culpable. When a report identifies a risk or a shortcoming, it is framed against the state of the market as a whole — an industry maturing, not an accusation. A named instrument or issuer that appears in a report is frequently among the better examples in its category, and we say so where that is the case.
Analytical opinions, not advice
Our reports, ratings, dimension scores, and index values are independent analytical opinions based on the data available to us at the time of publication. They are not statements of fact, guarantees, endorsements, or recommendations, and nothing we publish is investment, financial, legal, tax, or accounting advice. See our Terms for the complete disclosures.
Corrections
When we learn that a published report contains a material error, we correct it promptly and note the correction on the report. Underlying data revises over time — issuers restate attestations, onchain sources are re-indexed — and figures reflect the point in time at which they were computed; a later change in the source data is not itself an error. If you believe a report is materially inaccurate, write to research@onchainbenchmark.com with the specifics and we will review it.
Conflicts of interest
We disclose any relationship that could reasonably be seen to affect a report’s independence. Because we take no issuer payments and hold no positions taken to influence coverage, our baseline posture is no conflict; where a specific situation warrants a disclosure, it appears in the report itself.
Authorship
Reports are published under the byline OnChain Benchmark Research and are first-party research: OnChain Benchmark is both the author and the publisher. Contact for editorial matters, including corrections and press, is research@onchainbenchmark.com.
